More exercises in trying for decent flight shots. Both eyes open, one eye shut, 9-point auto focus, centre point focus, manual focus. The spirited Whiskered Terns (Chlidonias hybrida) seem willing, in zig-zaggy fashion, the camera technique is weak.

I like #2 and #3 for their composition. That's a high ISO your on. My old camera has trouble with anything more than 400.
Tony, you've been having a whole lot of fun. I've just had a look through all those posts I missed out on --- what a selection of birds! I'm going to have to hit the coast to check out the waders.
Hi Alan: Light wasn't great and I wanted fast shutter speed to freeze wing movement, so had to crank up ISO. Usually, I stick to 200-250, in part because I don't have Noise Ninja to overcome Canon noisiness.
Hi Bronwen: Surprising how they add up, isn't it? I take it that the dish is doing its job?
