Other Egrets and Herons are nicely captured, too.
Thanks for advice re the black (or dirty) Kingfisher. I am with the melanistic mutation theory, as the flight feathers were not dirty.

Hi Tony, I just popped over from Selma in the City's blog (she has you in her Australian bloggers section) - and saw you were a birdie and from Queensland - I love birds too and live in a village on the shores of Hervey Bay - can I ask - is Tyto a place? (excuse my ignorance) - great photos by the way :)

Tyto is a conservation wetland of 120ha almost right in Ingham. Even after Yasi, it's a great place.
