Golden glow on a good week

Golden Bowerbird (Amblyornis newtonianus) in all his glory this week near Paluma Dam.

Plus, first record in area for Eastern Spinebill (Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris).

And today in Tyto,  Red-backed Buttonquail (Turnix maculosus) makes seasonal return. Life's good!

Gosh, that golden bowerbird is stunning! What a photo.

I haven't seen one yet, but I understand they occur at the Crater, so I really should go and have a look.

Not only glorious, but remarkably attached to their huge bowers. Yasi knocked the Paluma habitat around but at least some bowerbirds have bounced back after perhaps sulking a bit last year.
